Emily Irene VanCamp originally wanted to be a professional ballet dancer. However, after watching her sister Katie at The Ladies Room movie set, Emily began to be interested in acting. The acting profession began after she started taking classes. She also got the opportunity to appear in shows from her homeland of Canada. The TV shows she was a part of include Are You fearful of the Dark? Radio Active. VanCamp achieved a major breakthrough after he was cast on the WB horror-mystery show Glory Days as Sam Dolan. The show was cancelled after just nine episodes, despite glowing review and ratings that were low. Despite her May 12th 1986 birth date her actress was offered an appearance on Everwood in its cast as Amy Abbott. This role brought her nominations for the Young Artist Award and four Teen Choice Awards.
